Reviving South Asia’s Forgotten Heritage

My Journey: Rediscovering Heritage,
One Coin at a Time

SikkaSafar really began with me. Ever since I was little, I loved collecting things — coins, old objects, random pieces of the past that seemed to whisper stories. For me, it wasn’t just about holding on to them, it was about connecting dots between places, people, and time.

When I came back to Pakistan, back to my roots, I realized this passion wasn’t just mine. My great-grandfather had been a traveler long before it was common, exploring Pakistan and much of Asia and bringing back tales of people and places. My grandfather added his own stories, and my father carried them forward. Sitting with their memories, listening to their adventures, I understood that history had always been part of my family’s blood.

That’s how SikkaSafar came alive. What started as a small personal hobby grew into something bigger — a digital museum where coins aren’t just metal, but storytellers; where cultures connect and new perspectives are discovered. It’s not just about the past — it’s about how those stories keep shaping us today.

SikkaSafar may have begun with me, but I don’t want it to end with me. For those who seek, there will always be answers. Let my journey — and the journey of my ancestors — be a starting point for you to explore, connect, and rediscover your own culture and roots.”
