From Forgotten Coins to Living History

What began as a small coin display in a village school has become a digital movement. SikkaSafar brings Gen Z face-to-face with ancestral coins, scripts, and stories, not behind glass, but through hands-on exhibitions and digital storytelling.

One student once said, “Hamare paas bhi ye sikke hain!” — and that single moment became a spark to rediscover heritage through local hands and global screens.

It started with a coin.

In 2023, during a small exhibition at a village school, a student looked down at a rusted old coin and whispered,

“Hamare paas bhi ye sikke hain.”

That sentence — simple, nostalgic, powerful — became the spark behind SikkaSafar.

Since that moment, we’ve traveled from schoolyards to screen scrolls, from dusty drawers to digital archives, creating a space where young people can rediscover the coins, scripts, stories, and languages of their ancestors.

SikkaSafar is not just about preservation — it’s about participation. It’s a reminder that our history doesn’t sit behind museum glass. It lives in our homes, our families, and our memories.
